Fro the authors' abstract: Let \(\Omega \) be a bounded simply connected plane domain, let \(N\) be a neighbourhood of \(\partial \Omega \) and \(1<p<\infty \). Further, let \(\widehat{u}\) be a positive weak solution of the \(p\)-Laplace equation in \(\Omega \cap N\) that vanishes on \(\partial \Omega \) in the Sobolev sense, and extend \(\widehat{u}\) to all of \(N\) by assigning it the value \(0\) on \(N\backslash \Omega \). Then there is a positive Borel measure \(\widehat{\mu }\) on \(\mathbb{C}\), supported by \(\partial \Omega \), such that \(\int \left| \nabla \widehat{u}\right| ^{p-2}\left\langle \nabla \widehat{u},\nabla\phi \right\rangle dA=-\int \phi d\widehat{\mu }\) for all \(\phi \in C_{0}^{\infty }(N)\). Building on previous work of \textit{B. Bennewitz} and the first author [Ann. Acad. Sci. Fenn. Math. 30, No. 2, 459--505 (2005; Zbl 1194.35189)] and the first author [Comput. Methods Funct. Theory 6, No. 1, 109--144 (2006; Zbl 1161.35406)], the authors obtain strong new results on the Hausdorff dimension of the support of \(\widehat{\mu }\) that are reminiscent of celebrated work of \textit{N. G. Makarov} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 51, 369--384 (1985; Zbl 0573.30029)] in the classical case where \(p=2\).
