A quasilinear parabolic boundary value problem of the third kind on an interval is investigated. The coefficients of the partial differential equation, the right-hand sides of the boundary conditions and the evolution equation for the state vector nonlinearly depend on time, the point, the state vector and the values of the solution at the endpoints. This problem generalises a number of models of formation and decomposition of metal hydrides and is as such of definite interest. The focus of this paper is proving the uniform convergence to a continuous generalised solution of the boundary value problem for the simplest finite-difference scheme. This is done by constructing a finite-difference scheme and proving the uniform boundedness of the grid solution and its grid derivatives. This implies the weak compactness of the approximations (interpolants of the grid solution). It is then shown that the weak limit satisfies some integral identity, i.e. is a generalised solution of the problem, thus proving the existence of a generalised solution and the convergence of the finite-difference scheme to it. In conclusion, an example of a boundary value problem of the considered form is provided.
