In this paper, the authors give some results about the existence of positive solutions of the nonlinear operator equation \[ x=\lambda Ax,\;x\in{P},\;\lambda\in {\mathbb{R}^{+}}, \] where \(\mathbb{R}^{+}=[0,\infty)\), \(\lambda> 0\) is a parameter, \(A=KF\), \(K\) and \(F\) satisfy the following conditions: (H1) \(K:E\rightarrow{E}\) is a linear completely continuous operator; \(F:P\rightarrow{E}\) is a bounded and continuous operator, where \(E\) is a real Banach space which is ordered by a normal cone \(P\), that is, \(x\leq{y}\) if and only if \(y-x\in{P}\). (H2) There exists \(w_{0}\in{P}\) and \(\sigma_{0}\geq 0\) such that \(Kw_{0}\leq {\sigma_{0}e}\) and \(Fx\geq {-w_{0}}\) for all \(x\in{P}\). They also study the structure of the positive solutions set \[ S(P)=\overline{\{ (\lambda, x)\in{\mathbb{R}^{+}} \times P: x \neq{\theta},\;x=\lambda Ax\}} \] by global bifurcation theory, and give some results on the existence of an unbounded connected component of the set \(S(P)\).
