The authors characterize the \(\omega\)-limit sets of planar ordinary differential equations NEWLINE\[NEWLINE \dot x=f(x) NEWLINE\]NEWLINE having real-analytical right-hand sides \(f:\mathbb R^2\to\mathbb R^2\) and generating a local flow \(\Phi\). Given an attractor \(A\neq\emptyset\) for \(\Phi\) with dimension greater than 1 and a basin of attraction \(B(A)\) it is shown that: If \(\dim(\mathrm{bd} A\cap \mathrm{sing}\Phi)=0\), then for every \(u\in B(A)\setminus A\) the limit set \(\omega(u)\) is contained in the boundary of \(A\) and homeomorphic to one of the cases (b)-(e) in the classification due to \textit{V. Jiménez López} and \textit{J. Llibre} [Adv. Math. 216, No. 2, 677--710 (2007; Zbl 1134.37016)].
