Let \(G\) be a finite group and let \(T\) be a non-identity \(p\)-Sylow subgroup of \(G\). It is well known that the normalizers of the non-identity characteristic subgroups of \(T\) provide information about the structure of \(G\) and hence it is useful to know when these normalizers generate \(G\). Let \(C(G,T)\) be the subgroup generated by all of these normalizers and assume \(C_{G}(O_{p}(G)) \leq O_{p}(G)\). \textit{D. Bundy} et al. in [J. Algebra 300, No. 2, 741--789 (2006; Zbl 1102.20020)], determined the structure of \(C(G,T)\) in the case in which \(C_{G}(\Omega_{1}(Z(T)))\) and \(N_{G}(B_{e}(T))\) generate a proper subgroup of \(G\), where \(B_{e}(T)\) is the Baumann subgroup of \(T\) according to a particular definition.NEWLINENEWLINEIn the paper under review the author uses the same methods to prove an analogous theorem that uses a different definition of the Baumann subgroup. This result is used by the author in [J. Algebra 648, 62--86 (2024; Zbl 07835181)] to prove a new transfer theorem for odd primes.
