The study of the uniqueness of stochastic 3D Navier-Stokes equations has been a serious problem. In this paper, it is proved the existence of a strong solution of the stochastic 3D tamed Navier-Stokes equation in case of a bounded underlying domain and taking Dirichlet boundary conditions. The proof is based on Galerkin's approximation and some local monotonicity of the coefficients. In a second part (to appear), the authors obtain a small time large deviations principle for the stochastic 3D tamed Navier-Stokes equations. The main difficulty lies in the study of the nonlinear terms, that are clearly different from those of the 2D Navier-Stokes equation.
