A space \(G\) is \textit{rectifiable} provided there is a homeomorphism \(\varphi:G\times G\to G\times G\) preserving the first coordinate and an element \(e\in G\) such that \(\varphi(x,x)=(x,e)\) for each \(x\in G\). It is shown that if a GO space is rectifiable then it is either metrisable or totally disconnected. Following this, various conditions are discussed under which both a rectifiable GO space and a Hausdorff compactification of it are separable and metrisable, for example the space is non-locally compact and the remainder in the compactification has a locally quasi-G\(_\delta\)-diagonal or is a \(k\)-space with locally point-countable base.
