This paper is devoted to the study of approximation properties of mixed series of Jacobi polynomials on weighted Sobolev spaces and of discretized mixed series of Chebyshev polynomials of the first kind from classes of analytic functions. The motivation for this paper stems from problems in which it is required to simultaneously approximate a function \(f\) and several of its derivatives \(f^{(i)}\), \(i=1,\dotsc,r\), by a chosen approximating function \(g\) and its corresponding derivatives \(g^{(i)}\), \(i=1,\dotsc,r\). Such problems arise, for example, when it is required to solve a differential equation by approximate numerical analytic methods. The main results can be found in Sections 8 (Theorem 2) and 9 (Estimate (9.15)).
