      The long time behavior of global strong solutions of the isentropic, compressible Euler equations with damping in \({\mathbb{R}}^3\) is investigated. More precisely, if the initial data are regular enough (belong to a given Sobolev space), then the system density and momentum decay at some specific rates in the \(L^2\)-norm, and in the \(L^{\infty}\)-norm. These rates are shown to be optimal by establishing (under special conditions) lower bound decay rates. With additional regularity for the additional data, \(L^p\)-time-decay rates are also established for the global classical solutions, where \(p\in [2,\infty)\).
