In the present paper, the authors using \(I_g\)-open sets of an ideal space \((X,\tau,I)\), where \(I\) is an ideal on a topological space \((X,\tau)\), introduce the notions of \(I_g\)-normal, \(gI\)-normal and \(I_g\)-regular spaces. They offer various characterizations of such spaces and study thoroughly their properties. The authors also study and characterize normal, mildly normal, regular and almost regular spaces in terms of classes of open-type sets, such as \(I_g\)-, \(*\)- , \(a\)-, \(g\)-, ag-, \(rag\)-open sets.
