This paper considers radial solutions of the equation \(u_{tt}-\Delta u\pm u|u|^p=0\), with \((t,x)\in {\mathbb R}\times{\mathbb R}^N\), where \(N=5\), \(p=4\) and initial data are taken in \(\dot H^{2}\times\dot H^{1}\). Assuming that scaled versions of the data satisfy a ``compactness condition'', pointwise decay bounds on the solutions are obtained. This follows closely earlier work of the authors [Am. J. Math. 133, No. 4, 1029--1065 (2011; Zbl 1241.35136)]. Extensions to \(N=2k+1\), \(k\geq 2\), and \(p\geq 4\), are sketched. For results on non-radial solutions, the authors refer to [\textit{A. Bulut}, ``Global well-posedness and scattering for the defocusing energy-supercritical cubic nonlinear wave equation'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1006.4168}; \textit{R. Killip} and \textit{M. Visan}, Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 363, No. 7, 3893--3934 (2011; Zbl 1230.35068)].
