In the perspective of generalized topological spaces \((X,\mu)\) \((GTS\), in short) due to \textit{A. Császár} [Acta Math. Hung. 96, 351--357 (2002; Zbl 1006.54003)], the concepts of \(\mu\)-preopen, \(\mu\)-semiopen, \(\mu\)-\(\beta\)-open and \(\mu r\)-open sets are introduced; for a \(GTS\) \((X, \mu)\) , the concept of hyperconnectedness is defined and an example is provided for such a concept; it is shown that hyperconnectedness implies connectedness but the implication is not reversible. Necessary and sufficient conditions for hyperconnectedness are enunciated and proved. To prove results about the preservation of hyperconnectedness in the setting of \(GTS\)'s \((X,\mu )\) and \((Y,\lambda)\), almost feebly \((\mu,\lambda)\)-continuous and \((\mu,\lambda)\)-semicontinuous mappings are defined; the relation between such mappings is described along with necessary examples; the preservation problem of the property of hyperconnectedness with respect to the said mappings is also tackled.
