The authors develop an asymptotic homogenization technique to analyze a periodic boundary value problem involving both elastic and fluid equations. This approach is employed to describe the fluid-structure interaction within a porous elastic matrix, through which an incompressible Newtonian fluid flows. The matrix is reinforced by an elastic network entirely immersed in the porous medium. The elastic matrix and the fibre network both interact with the fluid flow. The resulting equations extend the standard poroelastic model by incorporating additional terms that account for discontinuities between the elastic phases. Several numerical examples are provided to illustrate the model's application.
