This work is the 6th edition of a classic LaTeX textbook, by one of the most important authors on the topic. LaTeX is essential for any author in the natural sciences who wishes to write their own scientific texts, whether it is simple lecture notes, a textbook, or advanced research.\N\NThe work is divided into 8 sections, covering various aspects of document writing. Part 1 starts with an introduction to the basics. Part 2 focuses on the use of text. Part 3 is a shorter part focusing on fonts. Part 4 focuses on writing mathematics. Part 5 presents document structure. Part 6 presents formatting pdfs and making presentations. Part 7 discusses customizing LaTeX commands. Part 8 is devoted to creating bibliographies and indexes. At the end, the book includes extensive tables of symbols, which are very useful.\N\NTo put it plainly, this book has everything LaTeX-related that any student, researcher, and instructor will need to write their work, whether it is an article, a book, a presentation, or a poster. It will thus be helpful in any personal or university library.\N\NOverall, this book will be useful for all people active in the fields of natural sciences, especially mathematics. Due to its length (\(\sim\)600 pages), it can always be used as a quick reference for any questions on LaTeX . Moreover, it could be used as a textbook for a course on LaTeX, which would be useful in mathematics departments.\N\NThe reviewer hopes that with such good textbooks as this one available, more mathematics departments will be motivated to integrate LaTeX courses in their curriculum in the future.\N\NSee the review of the 4th edition in [Zbl 1145.68049]. For the 5th edition see [Zbl 1331.68002].
