The authors summarize all the necessary definitions and properties of Hahn's difference operator and the associated \(q,w\)-integral. They prove a higher-order fundamental lemma of the calculus of variations with Hahn's operator and they deduce a higher-order Euler-Lagrange equation for Hahn's variational calculus. Simple example of a quantum optimization problem is given.
