Triangles having integer area and side lengths are said to be \textit{Heronian}. Moreover, if their perimeter and area have the same value, they are called \textit{equable}. The authors study the set of equable triangles having side lengths \(b+\sqrt a\), \(b-\sqrt a\), \(c\), where \(a, b, c\in \mathbb N\) and \(c\) is a non-square, which they define as \textit{quasi-Heronian}.\N\NThe quasi-Heronian equable triangles for which \(b+\sqrt a < c\) are first characterized, then the quasi-Heronian equable triangles for which \(c < b-\sqrt a\). In both situations, the form that the triplet of sides, \([a,b,c]\), can have is given.\N\NFinally, it is proved that acute equable Heronian or quasi-Heronian triangles do not exist.
