This paper deals with the computation of the singular points with highest possible order of a nonlinear smooth mapping controlled by parameters. In particular, it deals with the case of one-parameter and high-order singularities. The authors establish a homotopy equation and solve it by the pseudo-arclength continuation method. The essential idea is to transfer the higher order singularity of the original problem into a singular scalar equation which is easily treated. Properties of the uniformly augmented system are listed and proved with numerical examples to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
