Evaluation of ST preconditioners for saddle point problems (Q654777)

The authors propose two block ST preconditioners based on the general block ST decomposition for saddle point problems with symmetric and positive definite (1,1)-block. These preconditioners transform the saddle point problem into an equivalent symmetric and positive definite system. An estimate of the upper bound of the condition number of the preconditioned systems are given for both singular and nonsingular cases, respectively. Numerical experiments to support the theory are given.
