For \(m\) and \(n\) positive integers, consider \(\mathfrak{osp}(m,2n)\) the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra equipped with the action of the orthosymplectic group \(G_0\). Let the odd nilpotent cone \(\mathcal{N}_1\) be defined by the set of odd elements \(X \in \mathfrak{osp}(m,2n)_1\) such that \(ad(X)\) is nilpotent. When \(m=2n+1\) or \(2n\), \textit{C. Gruson} and \textit{S. Leidwanger} [Ann. Math. Blaise Pascal 17, No. 2, 303--326 (2010; Zbl 1206.17016)] constructed a \(G_0\)-equivariant resolution \(\tilde{\mathcal{N}_1}\) of \(\mathcal{N}_1\). The paper under review studies the fibers of this resolution in the case \(m=2n+1\). The method used is a decomposition of the fibers into smooth locally closed subsets. By a result of [\textit{P. Kraft} and \textit{C. Procesi}, Comment. Math. Helv. 57, 539-602 (1982; Zbl 0511.14023)], the \(G_0\)-orbits of \(\mathcal{N}_1\) are indexed by certain marked Young diagrams. The pieces of Gruson and Leidwanger's decomposition of the fiber over an odd nilpotent orbit are parametrized by admissible slicings of the corresponding marked Young diagrams. Using this decomposition, Gruson and Leidwanger show that unlike the classical Springer resolution, the fibers of the resolution \(\tilde{\mathcal{N}_1} \rightarrow \mathcal{N}_1\) need not be connected nor equidimensional. Moreover, they show that the fiber over \(X\in \mathcal{N}_1\) is connected if and only if \(X \in \mathcal{O}_1\) the odd nilpotent subregular orbit. The paper concludes with explicit descriptions of the fibers over the orbits of codimension \(1, 2\), and 3.
