      The authors consider the existence of weak \(T-\)periodic solutions for \newline \[ -\frac{d}{dt}\left( \left| \frac{d}{dt}x\left( t\right) \right| ^{p\left( t\right) -2}\frac{d}{dt}x\left( t\right) \right) =\nabla F\left( t,x\left( t\right) \right) , \] \[ x\left( 0\right) -x\left( T\right) =\dot{x}\left( 0\right) -\dot{x}\left( T\right) =0 \] \newline under some assumptions on the Carathéodory function \(F\) and on \(\nabla F\). The authors use the least action principle, so they require coercivity of \( \int_{0}^{T}F\left( t,x\left( t\right) \right) dt\) and at most linear growth of \(\nabla F\). They generalize some known existence results for \(p\left( t\right) =2\) to the variable case.
