The paper investigates the problem of estimating inlet parameters in an axisymmetric cylindrical combustor from temperature measurements, taking into account the thermal radiation effect. A mathematical model representing the flow equations, the turbulent equations, the reaction of fuel/oxidizer and heat radiative transfer equations are introduced and numerically solved by the finite volume method. The validity of this model is verified by comparing the simulation with some experimental data. Then the inlet parameters are estimated from the temperature measurements using the repulsive particle swarm optimization method. The performance of the algorithm is analyzed using numerical tests.
