The ascending chain condition on principal right ideals for semigroup constructions (Q6571328)

A semigroup is called \(\mathcal{R}\)-noetherian if it satisfies the ascending chain condition on principal right ideals. The property of being \(\mathcal{R}\)-Noetherian is studied for semidirect products, Schützenberger products, free products, Rees matrix semigroups, Brandt extensions, Brook-Reilly extensions, and semilattices of semigroups. For example, a semidirect product \(S\rtimes_{\varphi} T\) is \(\mathcal{R}\)-noetherian iff one of the following holds: 1) both \(S\) and \(T\) are \(\mathcal{R}\)-noetherian; 2) \(S\) is \(\mathcal{R}\)-noetherian and has no element with a local right identity; or 3) \(T\) is \(\mathcal{R}\)-noetherian and has no element with a local right identity.\par The article also contains several examples. For example, an example of an \(\mathcal{R}\)-noetherian semidirect product \(S\rtimes_{\varphi} T\) with a semigroup \(S\) that is not \(\mathcal{R}\)-noetherian, or an example of \(\mathcal{R}\)-noetherian semigroups \(S\) and \(T\) such that \(S\rtimes_{\varphi} T\) is not \(\mathcal{R}\)-noetherian.
