In a bounded domain \(\Omega\) in \(\mathbb{R}^N, N \geq 3\), with \(\partial \Omega\) being smooth, this article treats the boundary value problem \(-\triangle_p u = j(x,u)\) in \(\Omega\), \(\frac{\partial u}{\partial n_p} =0\) on \(\partial \Omega\), where \(j:\Omega \times \mathbb{R} \rightarrow \mathbb{R}\) is the reaction term satisfying Carathéodory conditions, \(n (x)\) is the outward unit normal vector on \(\partial \Omega\), \(\frac{\partial u}{\partial n_p} := |\nabla u|^{p-2}\nabla u \cdot n\). Using variational methods of min-max type with Morse theory, the authors establish three existence results with the reaction term being \((p-1)\)-asymptotically linear or sublinear at infinity. The hypotheses in these results on permit resonance and make the corresponding energy function noncoercive.
