Infinitely generated tilting modules are important since they are useful tools in the study of module categories. They are involved in results which extend the classical Morita theory [\textit{R. R. Colby} and \textit{K. R. Fuller}, Equivalence and duality for module categories. With tilting and cotilting for rings. Cambridge Tracts in Mathematics 161. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press (2004; Zbl 1069.16001)] or in the study of approximations of modules [Approximations and endomorphism algebras of modules. de Gruyter Expositions in Mathematics 41. Berlin: Walter de Gruyter (2006; Zbl 1121.16002)]. Therefore, it is important to have good descriptions for tilting modules or for tilting classes. There are classification theorems for tilting modules over important classes of ring, as Dedekind domains, Prüfer domains and almost perfect domains. The paper under review is a natural continuation of the study realized by authors in [Tilting and cotilting classes over Gorenstein rings. Contemporary Mathematics 480, 319--334 (2009; Zbl 1180.13034)], where they classified tilting modules over Gorenstein rings of Krull dimension 1 via the fact that every tilting class is of finite type. Since in the case of Krull dimension \(\geq 2\) there is no hope to classify finitely presented modules, in the present paper the authors introduce new methods for the study of infinitely generated tilting modules. In the main results of the paper, Theorem 2.3 and Theorem 4.2, they were able to prove that if \(R\) is a regular ring of finite Krull dimension then tilting classes which consist in modules of injective dimension at most 1 can be parameterized by some subsets of \(\mathrm{Spec}(R)\), while tilting classes over regular rings of Krull dimension 2 are classified by pairs \((X,Y)\) with \(\mathrm{Ass}_R R\subseteq X\subseteq \mathrm{Spec}(R)\) and \(V(X\setminus \mathrm{Ass}_R)\cap P_2\subseteq Y\subseteq P_2\), where \(V(X)\) denotes the set of prime ideals which contain at least one element of \(X\).
