Let \(L(k,0)\) be a simple affine vertex operator algebra whose highest weight is admissible in the sense of [\textit{V. G. Kac} and \textit{M. Wakimoto}, Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 85, No. 14, 4956--4960 (1988; Zbl 0652.17010)]. It is conjectured in [\textit{D. Adamović} and \textit{A. Milas}, Math. Res. Lett. 2, No. 5, 563--575 (1995; Zbl 0848.17033)] that such vertex operator algebra has finitely many irreducible modules in category \(\mathcal{O}\), and that every \(L(k,0)\)-module from category \(\mathcal{O}\) is completely reducible. In the paper under review, the authors verify that conjecture in the case of vertex operator algebras associated to affine Lie algebra of type \(G_{2}^{(1)}\) with admissible levels \(k=-\frac{5}{3}\), \(-\frac{4}{3}\) and \(-\frac{2}{3}\). They study representations of \(L(k,0)\) using the methods from [\textit{A. Meurman} and \textit{M. Primc}, Mem. Am. Math. Soc. 652, 89 p. (1999; Zbl 0918.17018); \textit{D. Adamović}, Glas. Mat., III. Ser. 29, No.1, 25--40 (1994; Zbl 0820.17035); Adamović and Milas, loc. cit.]. They first determine explicit formulas for singular vectors in associated universal affine vertex algebras, and then obtain the highest weights of irreducible \(L(k,0)\)-modules as solutions of systems of certain polynomial equations.
