The paper deals with computation of the maximal number of mutually non-homeomorphic metric spaces belonging to a class of spaces. It is shown that for each cardinal number \(\kappa \geq \mathfrak c= 2^{\omega}\) there are \(2^{\kappa}\) pairwise non-homeomorphic complete and path connected metric spaces of size \(\kappa\). There are \(2^{\mathfrak c}\) mutually non-homeomorphic locally compact and complete metric spaces of cardinality \(\mathfrak c\). Some other similar results are obtained for families of subspaces of the Euclidean spaces \(\mathbb R^n\) and \(\mathbb Q\).
