The Fell compactification and non-Hausdorff groupoids (Q658333)

The author applies a compactification of locally compact non-Hausdorff spaces which was given by \textit{J. M. G. Fell} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 13, 472--476 (1962; Zbl 0106.15801)] to the groupoids which have open range and source map and Hausdorff object space. Also the author shows that locally compact Hausdorff groupoids can be obtained as a result in a special case of this construction. Finally, in the étale case, it is shown that this construction provides a geometric picture for the left-regular representation of the non-Hausdorff groupoid obtained by \textit{M. Khoshkam} and \textit{G. Skandalis} [J. Reine Angew. Math. 546, 47--72 (2002; Zbl 1029.46082)].
