    Let \(X,Y\) be Hausdorff topological spaces. A map \(f:X\rightarrow Y\) is called quasicontinuous at \(x\in X\) if for every open set \(V\subset Y\) with \(f(x)\in V\), and any open set \(U\subset X\) with \(x\in U\), there is a nonempty open set \(W\subset U \) such that \(f(W)\subset V\). We say that \(f\) is quasicontinuous if it is quasicontinuous at every point of \(X\). In this paper, the authors give necessary and sufficient conditions for the quasicontinuity of the pointwise limit of a sequence of real valued quasicontinuous functions defined on a Baire space. This result is used to characterize the Baire space property in the class of metrizable spaces and in the class of quasi-regular \(T_{1}\) topological spaces with locally countable \(\pi\)-base.
