This paper under review presents a generalization of the Kawamata-Viehweg vanishing theorem in complex algebraic geometry.\N\NThe main theorem of the paper is as follows: Let \(X\) be a projective manifold and \(L\) a line bundle over \(X\). Assume that some multiple \(mL\) can be written as \(mL=F+D\), where \(F\) is a nef line bundle and \(D\) a pseudo-effective line bundle equipped with a singular metric \(h_D = e^{-2\varphi_D}\) whose curvature current is positive. Then\N\[\NH^q(X, \mathcal{O}(K_X + L) \otimes \mathcal{I}(\frac{\varphi_D}{m}))=0\text{ for } q>\dim X-\text{nd}(F),\N\]\Nwhere nd\((F)\) numerical dimension of \(F\).\N\NThe proof of the main theorem first relies on the characterizations of bigness and nefness of line bundles to analyze the properties of \(F\) and \(L\). Singular metrics and their curvature currents are defined and studied to prove the positivity of the curvature current of the singular metric on \(L\). The solution to Demailly's strong openness conjecture is utilized, particularly through Lemma 2.5, to establish the equality between certain multiplier ideal sheaves. Additionally, the proof of the main theorem is carried out by induction on the dimension of the projective manifold \(X\), with the use of suitable hyperplane sections to handle different cases.
