This work concerns an area of approximations in applied mathematics known as asymptotic analysis and perturbation theory. The author presents first an outline of the standard numerical methods such as numerical differentiation, quadrature formulas and Runge-Kutta and Adams-Bashforth integration methods of ordinary differential equations. The approximate solution is obtained using their asymptotic expansion for many applications such as dynamical systems, satellite attitude prediction, satellite attitude control. Another simple example is the equation of atomic physics \[ \frac{d^{2}\varphi}{dx^{2}}=\sqrt{\frac{\varphi^{3}}{x}}. \] This work serves as an introduction to the power of combining asymptotic analysis and multiple scales approaches to complex computational problems.
