How I got involved in research on two-dimensional manifolds of bounded curvature (Q6606499)

This paper, written by Yu. G. Reshetnyak (1929--2021) and translated from Russian by F. Fillastre and D. Slutskiy, serves as a kind of introduction to the book [\textit{F. Fillastre} (ed.) and \textit{D. Slutskiy} (ed.), Reshetnyak's theory of subharmonic metrics. Cham: Springer (2023; Zbl 1530.53006)]. It gives some historical and personal reminiscences on the foundational work of A. D.
