Let \(H\) be a Hilbert space. In this paper, sufficient conditions are given for the existence of Jordan derivations and Jordan generalized derivations over \(B(H)\). The following is the main result in authors' exposition.\par \textbf{Theorem.} Let \(H\) be a real or complex Hilbert space with dim\((H)\ge 2\) and \(\Omega\in B(H)\) be given. Suppose that the linear mapping \(\delta:B(H)\to B(H)\) is Jordan derivable at \(\Omega\), in the sense: \(\delta(\Omega)=\delta(A)\circ B+A\circ \delta(B)\), for all \(A,B\in B(H)\) with \(A\circ B=\Omega\). Then,\par (1) If \(\Omega=0\), then \(\delta\) is a generalized derivative\par (2) If \(\Omega\ne 0\), then \(\delta\) is a derivative.\par Further aspects occasioned by these developments are also discussed.
