Assume that spaces are Hausdorff and have an H-closed \(\pi\)-base, ie a \(\pi\)-base whose elements have an H-closed closure. Various cardinal inequalities are considered. Two examples. A space \(X\) such that \(\vert X\vert >2^{wL(X)\chi(X)}\), hence \(\vert X\vert >2^{wL(X)t(X)\psi_c(X)}\). If \(X\) is Urysohn then \(\vert X\vert \le2^{wL(X)k(X)}\), where \(k(X)\) is the minimal cardinal number \(\kappa\) such that for each \(x\in X\) there is a collection \(\mathcal{V}_x\) of closed neighbourhoods of \(x\) such that \(\vert \mathcal{V}_x\vert \le\kappa\) and if \(W\) is a closed neighbourhood of \(x\) then there is \(V\in\mathcal{V}_x\) with \(V\subset W\). Several conditions equivalent to Martin's Axiom are presented enabling the author to prove that if the space is also quasiregular then it is Choquet and hence Baire.
