A complete projective embedding \(A\hookrightarrow\mathbb{P}^n\) of an abelian surface is called a Galois embedding if there is a linear projection \(\mathbb{P}^n\to\mathbb{P}^2\) such that the composition \(A\to\mathbb{P}^2\) is a Galois covering. It is shown that the least number \(n\) for which there is a complex abelian surface admitting a Galois embedding into \(\mathbb{P}^n\) is \(n=7\). Moreover, the surfaces admitting such an embedding are isogenous to a self-product of an elliptic curve and the Galois group is determined. The paper uses the results of the earlier paper [ibid. 117, 69--85 (2007; Zbl 1136.14041)] of the author.
