Inspired by results of \textit{A. Moretó} [Adv. Math. 208, No. 1, 236-248 (2007; Zbl 1109.20008)] and \textit{D. A. Craven} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. (3) 96, No. 1, 26-50 (2008; Zbl 1165.20008)] which prove that the order of a finite group \(G\) is bounded in terms of the largest multiplicity of its irreducible character degrees, the author looks at the equivalent problem for conjugacy class sizes. Namely, can the order of a finite group be bounded in terms of the largest multiplicity of its conjugacy class sizes? \textit{A. Jaikin-Zapirain} has answered this question positively when \(G\) is soluble [J. Group Theory 8, No. 3, 267-272 (2005; Zbl 1098.20006)]. In the paper under review the author proves the result when \(G\) is simple. Using this result the author then proves that if the largest multiplicity of conjugacy class sizes of any quotient of a finite group \(G\) is \(m\), then the order of \(G\) is \(m\)-bounded. However, the more general problem remains open.
