    Consider the Sturm-Liouville eigenvalue equation defined by \[ \left( p(x)y^{\prime }(x)\right) ^{\prime }+\left( r(x)-\lambda ^{2}w(x)\right) y(x)=0, \quad x\in [0,1] \] and assume that the coefficients are complex valued piecewise analytic functions. Let \(\varphi _{i}\) be solutions satisfying the initial value \(\varphi _{1}\left( 0,\lambda \right) =1\), \(\varphi _{1}^{\prime }\left( 0,\lambda \right) =0\) and \( \varphi _{2}\left( 0,\lambda \right) =0\), \(\varphi _{2}^{\prime }\left( 0,\lambda \right) =1.\) It is shown that the knowledge in a domain of the complex plane of \(\left( \varphi _{i}\left( 1,\lambda \right) ,\;\varphi _{i}^{\prime }\left( 1,\lambda \right) \right) \) for either \(i=1\) or \(i=2\) and two of the coefficients is enough to recover the third.
