A classical result of Pizzetti gives a formula for the spherical mean values of \(C^{2k}\) functions in a ball in \(\mathbb{R}^{d}\). The author extends this formula to the case of real analytic functions; cf. Lemma 1 in [\textit{D. H. Armitage} and \textit{Ü. Kuran}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 171, No. 2, 516--531 (1992; Zbl 0770.31002)]. He also characterizes, in terms of the behaviour of spherical (or volume) means as a function of the radius, those functions \(u\) which have ``Laplacian growth \((\rho ,\tau )\)'' on a domain \(\Omega \); that is, for every compact \(K\subset \Omega \) and \(\varepsilon >0\), one can find \(C=C(K,\varepsilon )\) such that \[ \sup_{K}\left| \Delta ^{k}u\right| \leq C(2k)!^{1-1/\rho }(\tau +\varepsilon )^{2k},\qquad k\geq 0. \]
