Let \(T^\lambda M\) be the tangent sphere bundle of radius \(\lambda\) over a Riemannian manifold \((M,g)\), defined to be the set of all tangent vectors of length \(\lambda\), which is a hypersurface in \(TM\) with the induced Sasaki metric \(g^S\). The bundle of oriented orthonormal frames over \(M\), denoted by \(SO(M)\), has a natural Riemannian metric \(G\). If \((M,g)\) is connected, oriented and of dimension 3, then the main result states that \(i(T^\lambda M, g^S)\) is homomorphically mapped into \(i(SO(M),G)\), where \(i(M,g)\) denotes the Lie algebra of infinitesimal isometries of a Riemannian manifold \((M,g)\). Moreover, the bundle \((T^\lambda M, g^S)\) admits a non-fiber-preserving infinitesimal isometry if and only if \((M,g)\) is a space of constant curvature \(1/\lambda^2\). From these results, the infinitesimal isometries of the tangent sphere bundle are analyzed.
