Let \(\left\{ a_{n}\right\} \) denote a sequence of real numbers and \(B(x)\) a real function of bounded variation in each interval \(\left[ 1,X\right] \). For \(n,k\geq 1\) and \(x\geq 1\), let \(A(n)=\sum_{i=1}^{n}a_{i}\) and \( S(k,x)=\sum_{n=1}^{k}a_{n}B(x/n)\). In Theorem 1, the author provides conditions under which the Abelian result ``\(A(n)=o(n)\) implies \(S(k,x)=o(x)\) uniformly in \(\delta x\leq k\leq x\)'' holds. The proof and the conditions follow along the lines of Chapter II, Theorem 7.12 of [\textit{R. G. Ayoub}, An introduction to the analytic theory of numbers. Mathematical Surveys 10. Providence, Rhode Island: American Mathematical Society (1963; Zbl 0128.04303)]. The Tauberian result reads as follows. Suppose that \(B(x)\) is of bounded variation in every finite interval \(\left[ 1,X\right] \) and that \(\left| B(x)\right| \geq c>0\) for \(x\geq 1\). If \( \sum_{i=1}^{n}\left| a_{i}\right| =O(n)\) and \(S(k,x)=o(x)\) uniformly in \(\delta x\leq k\leq x\), then \(A(n)=o(n)\). The author also proves new Abelian results in the case where \(B(x)\) is of generalized bounded variation.
