The authors show how to handle boundary conditions on an interior obstacle. The Bielak-MacCamy's coupling of the boundary element method (BEM) and the finite element method (FEM) depends on a parameter \(0 < \delta < 1\).The limiting values are precisely the Johnson-Nedelec BEM-FEM coupling and its transpose, both including a postprocessing of the solution to approximate another variable. An application to an exterior problem in three dimensional elasticity was given.
