The authors study plane \(C^\infty\)-curves \(\gamma\) in the equi-centro-affine differential geometry with the group \(SL(2,\mathbb{R})\) where the situation is quite different from that of equi-affine differential geometry. Here, the curvature \(k(s)\) is naturally defined by \(k(s)= \text{det}(\dot\gamma(s),\ddot\gamma(s))\), where the arclength parameter \(s\) is given by \[ s(t)= \int^t_{t_0} \text{det}(\gamma(\mu),\dot\gamma(\mu))\,d\mu \] (it is supposed that \(\text{det}(\gamma(\mu), \dot\gamma(\mu))\neq 0\), i.e. that the curve \(\gamma\) is non-degenerate). The main result of the paper deals with the nature of the singularities of the so-called affine pre-evolutes \[ e(s)= \int^s_{s_0} \gamma(\mu)\,d\mu+ {\dot\gamma(s)\over k(s)} \] of a non-degenerate curve \(\gamma\). Furthermore, properties of other singularities are considered. Generic properties are emphasized.
