Let \(G\) be a finite simple group of Lie type with root system \(\Phi\). [\textit{M. W. Liebeck} et al., J. Algebra 326, No. 1, 201--207 (2011; Zbl 1225.20016)] proved that if \(G\) is untwisted, then it is equal to a product of at most \(5\cdot |\Phi|\) of its subgroups isomorphic to \(\mathrm{SL}_{2}\) or \(\mathsf{PSL}_{2}\).\N\NIn the paper under review the author proves that a Chevalley group of type \(\Phi\) over a Hermitian domain can be presented as a product of \(|\Phi|-\mathrm{rk}\, \Phi\) subgroups of type \(\mathsf{A}_{1}\). Furthermore, he improves the previously known upper bounds for \(\mathrm{SL}_{2}\)-factorizations of twisted groups and large Ree groups.
