An infinite elastic dielectric is subject to a non-uniform stress field and to a non-uniform electric field at infinity. In the medium there are three ellipsoidal inclusions with different elastic moduli and dielectric constants. The first inclusion is contained in the second one, whereas the third inclusion is disjoint from the others. In order to determine the mutual interactions between the inclusions, the authors assume polynomial expressions for eigen-strains (as Eshelby did in 1959) and the eigen-electric nuclei. Then, they evaluate the coefficients of the polynomials by imposing the geometric and electrostatic compatibility of the fields in a discrete net of points interior to each inclusion. Hence, the solution is purely numerical.
