The author considers a free-ended isotropic elastic bar of infinite length which contains a finite section of material prestressed by an axial force \(N\). The reflection and transmission coefficients of harmonic waves with given angular frequency \(\omega\) are presented, and their dependencies on \(N\) and \(\omega\) is displayed.
