Summary: Following \textit{V. Linchenko} and \textit{S. Montgomery}'s arguments [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 135, No. 10, 3091-3098 (2007; Zbl 1139.16027)] we show that the smash product of an involutive weak Hopf algebra and a semiprime module algebra, satisfying a polynomial identity, is semiprime.
