Let \(X\) be a smooth projective Calabi-Yau 3-fold and \(I_n(X,\beta)\) be the Hilbert scheme of subschemes \(Z\) with \(\mathrm{dim}(Z)\leqslant 1\), \([Z]=\beta\in H_2(X,\mathbb{Z})\) and \(\chi(\mathcal{O}_Z)=n\). \textit{R. P. Thomas} [J. Differ. Geom. 54, No. 2, 367--438 (2000; Zbl 1034.14015)] defined DT invariants of \(I_n(X,\beta)\) using the virtual class construction of \textit{K. Behrend} and \textit{B. Fantechi} [Algebra Number Theory 2, No. 3, 313--345 (2008; Zbl 1170.14004)] or \textit{J. Li} and \textit{G. Tian} [J. Am. Math. Soc. 11, No. 1, 119--174 (1998; Zbl 0912.14004)]. DT invariants for such Hilbert schemes receive contribution not just from curves, but also floating points. To get rid of points contribution, \textit{R. Pandharipande} and \textit{R. P. Thomas} [Invent. Math. 178, No. 2, 407--447 (2009; Zbl 1204.14026)] defined counting invariants (PT invs) using moduli spaces \(P_n(X,\beta)\) of stable pairs whose closed points are pairs \((s:\mathcal{O}_X\to F)\)'s, where \(F\) is a pure one dimensional sheaf and \(s\) is surjective in one dimension. In the same paper, they conjectured a \(\mathrm{DT/PT}\) correspondence. This has been verified by the work of \textit{Y. Toda} [J. Am. Math. Soc. 23, No. 4, 1119--1157 (2010; Zbl 1207.14020)] and \textit{T. Bridgeland} [J. Am. Math. Soc. 24, No. 4, 969--998 (2011; Zbl 1234.14039)]. By the seminar work of \textit{K. Behrend} [Ann. Math. (2) 170, No. 3, 1307--1338 (2009; Zbl 1191.14050)], DT invariants are weighted Euler characteristics of the corresponding moduli spaces, where the weights are given by Behrend's constructible functions. In the paper under review, the author studies a local version of \(\mathrm{DT/PT}\) correspondence for local moduli spaces near a smooth embedded genus \(g\) curve, where corresponding DT/PT invariants are defined using Behrend's weighted Euler characteristics of moduli spaces. The proof uses Hilbert-Chow maps and a study of local analytic structures of Hilbert schemes. As an application of the proof, the author also computes the reduced DT theory of a general Abel-Jacobi curve of genus 3.
