For a bounded domain \(\Omega\subset\mathbb C^n\) let \(A^2(\Omega):=\mathcal O(\Omega)\cap L^2(\Omega)\) and let \(P:L^2(\Omega)\longrightarrow A^2(\Omega)\) be the Bergman projection. For \(\varphi\in L^\infty(\Omega)\) let \(H_\varphi:A^2(\Omega)\longrightarrow L^2(\Omega)\), \(H_\varphi f:=(I-P)(\varphi f)\). We say that \(H_\varphi\) is in the Schatten \(p\)-class \(S_p\) if the eigenvalues of the operator \((H_\varphi^\ast H_\varphi)^{p/2}\) are absolutely summable. The main result of the paper is the following theorem. Let \(\Omega\subset\mathbb C^n\) be a \(\mathcal C^2\)-smooth bounded pseudoconvex domain, \(n\geq2\), and let \(\varphi\in\mathcal O(\Omega)\cap\mathcal C^2(\overline\Omega)\). Then \(H_{\overline\varphi}\in S_p\) for a \(p\leq2n\) if and only if \(\varphi\) is constant.
