Hereditary JB-subalgebras of a given JB-algebra \(A\) were characterized by \textit{C. M. Edwards} [J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 19, 335-344 (1979; Zbl 0387.46043)] as the norm closed quadratic ideals in \(A\). In this note the authors give some characterizations of hereditary JB-subalgebras. They also characterize full hereditary JB-subalgebras.
