The paper is concerned with the exact controllability and uniform stabilization for a pair of hyperbolic systems connected in some open subset of a domain in which one of these systems contains locally distributed damping. There are given sufficient conditions on the subset where the damping term is effective ensuring the uniform stabilization of the solutions.
