The author considers discrete collocation methods for the first kind boundary integral equation \[ \int_\Gamma \log|x-y |u(y)d \Gamma (y)=f(x) +\omega, \quad \int_\Gamma u(y)d \Gamma(y) =B,\;x\in\Gamma, \] where \(\Gamma\) is the (smooth) boundary of a bounded domain in \(\mathbb{R}^2\), \(B\) is a given real constant, and \(u\) and \(\omega \in\mathbb{R}\) are the unknowns. He presents convergence results and error estimates in the sup-norm. Some numerical experiments illustrate the theoretical error analysis, and the numerical results are compared with those obtained by other approximation methods.
